Team Pharmacist

The team pharmacist must have recent oncology experience.  This position will be responsible for pharmacy activities which include; dispensing, quality control, pharmaceutical inventory and controlled substance management.  Additional duties include, training, education, research and drug information.

Minimum Requirements
  • Manage all responsibilities and perform all duties in a satisfactory manner
  • Enter patient prescriptions, including prescription review, for accuracy of medication and dosage for disease state. Resolve any discrepancies with prescribing physician
  • Verify picked prescription orders for accuracy and correct labeling
  • Inspect on-hand inventory for integrity, purity and appropriate expiration dating
  • Counsel and resolve patient’s medication concerns and health questions
  • Perform clinical monitoring activities in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
  • Direct on-hand inventory process and resolve any discrepancies
  • Manage the daily activities of the pharmacy team
  • Clean pharmacy and complete pharmacy log books per SOP as assigned
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy practice and industry developments
  • Participate actively in staff and management meetings and patient care conferences
  • Other duties as assigned

Clinical Nurse

The team nurse must have recent oncology experience.  This position will be responsible for oversight and implementation of clinical support, education and follow-up with patients and physicians.

Minimum Requirements
  • Interpreting, assessing and conducting clinical educational support for patients and physicians
  • Understanding and knowledge of the health insurance process
  • Experience with appeals and case management
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Maintain current and appropriate documentation as required by state and federal agencies
  • Well versed in current clinical practice regulations and guidelines
  • Ensure professional license is always kept current
  • Other duties as assigned

Care Coordinator

The Care Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of care for the patient as well as being a resource for the physician and their staff. From the submission of a prescription; to the initial contact with the patient; with regular follow-ups required to coordinate delivery of medications and billing and collecting from the payer. The Care Coordinator works with the patient and coordinates with the team through the entire care continuum.

Minimum Requirements
  • 2+ years experience with medical/pharmacy insurance verification including benefit investigation
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing
  • Experience with prior authorization and SMN preparation
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational and judgment skills
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of claim appeals
